Breaking in new rears
I just ordered a set of 4.88's and a Detroit locker and True Trac.
I CAN'T WAIT!!!
Now I know you have to break in the gears and simple enough to do for the rear but what about the front?
Thanks.

LOL. I remember when one of my caps shot out of my u-joints for my rear driveshaft and I had to drive around in "front wheel drive" for a couple days untill I felt like redoing my u-joints again. It was like a totally different truck, especially with weight transfer and torque steer.
More questions: If I do decide to do the "front wheel drive" break-in, Am I gonna run into any unsafe binding with the True Trac on the street?
Or should I just lock the hubs in 2WD and drive both rears the normal break-in procedure? Is that going to be enough break-in stress in the front rear to sufficently do the job?
I've broken in 2 rears before in 2 different Camaro's but never did it for a front rear before.
Thanks for the above replies and related link. And thanks again for all your help.

True trac is a limited slip, so won't bind up. I used to run a TT in the front of my '85 and drove it in FWD a few times. It'll pull a little in turns, especially if you get on and off the gas while turning. Otherwise it is not too bad, at least compared to driving a full locker. I run a limited slip in the front of my daily driver and you get used to holding onto the steering wheel in turns while accelerating.
