3vz "isr mod" design modification questions.
so here is my question, ive been peeking around at people ideas and designs for the isr mod, and was wondering instead of getting a whole new intake tube, is there a way to modify the one thats on there. i was thinking of eaither 2 designs
1ST!!
cut along the "green line" cutting the intake silence tube off, and then patching it, with another peice of plastic or rubber.
i know patching the hole will be hard to do, and be hard to make airtight so theres no vaccuum leaks, but its just an idea
AND idea #2. Just get rid of the whole tube, and try to find a hose from the junkyard that fits, and is one solid peice.
I guess im better off just getting a whole new tube, but i figured i'd ask anyway. And yes i know, the elbow under the master cylinder is highly restrictive!!

Honestly...? an ISR mod isn't expensive to begin with.
Go buy some 3" ducting, rubber gaskets, and brass fittings
pull your stock intake off, attach and bend the ducting from hole to hole
take the ducting to an exhaust shop, and tell them to use 3" piping.
take it back home, test fit it. drill the holes for the brass fittings.
paint it with exhaust coating.
that'll get you a clean ISR mod that looks factory

yeah after putting all this thought into it i relized the "actuall" mod wasnt hard at all. i'll probably just go the original route to save myself the trouble
