Torch Set found on EBAY

Hi. I'm looking to get a torch setup. I probably won't cut stuff much but will be needed some like making an offroad trailer, front/rear bumpers etc. For those with experience how would you rate a kit like this? I orginally wanted a plasma cutter but they are too pricely and I don't have a compressor yet. I will be working with steel 90% of the time plus my garage is getting crowded.

Thanks.

If you never had a torch before I guess you could get by!!!

Those sets work pretty good for brazing and silver brazing but those small oxygen tanks suck if you get into any serious cutting as the oxygen will not flow enough volume .

I had looked into a set like this to carry to rough cut steel making it easier to move to the saw. It didn`t work

Really you might better spend the money on a Deep cut band saw.

Just my thoughts.

No matter how big your garage they all get crowded !!

Those sets are more for heating and cooling service than fabercating. They will have a limited tank capacity ,which means more trips for refills. I have a propane /oxygen set up that works well .The nice thing is you can use a tank from a BBQ ,which is a lot cheaper than a acetylene tank . You need to buy a propane tip for the torch, because they are differant than the ones for acetylene
