Timing off after dist cap cleaning?
I cleaned all the corrosion off the distributor cap today and now my truck takes off very slowly. TRUCK INFO: 92 Toyota 4x4, 22RE, all stock.
It starts fine, it idles fine and once I get around 40mph it acts normal. I know these vehicles aren't known for speed, but this is rediculous.
I am 99.999% sure the distributor didn't turn while I was working. Has anyone had this happen...what did you do to fix it? I was thinking that the timing might need to be reset due to the cleaner distributor. I would just reset the timing instead of posting if I had a timing light, but I dont want to buy one if timing is not the issue.
Thanks in advance,
Jason
