t-100 and tundra are the same truck?

t-100 and tundra are the same truck?
I ran across some info on the internet the other day and it said that the t-100 and the tundra are the same truck? Is this true if so wouldn't be easier and less expensive to put a 2uzfe in one with all tundra running gear? if so I would put in double cab suspension (3in higher than factory) and a 2in body lift with a set of 35's and some lockers Any info would be greatly appreciated thanx.

No, T100 and tundra are unfortunatly not the same truck. The body stance and size may be the same but the components and chasis are completely different. The reason the T100 didnt sell and was replaced by the tundra is that the largest engine offered was the 5VZ-FE and the consumers wanted a V8.

A normal differential is what we call OPEN. In an open differential all the power will go to the tire with the least traction. This is due to the design of the differential as well as the fact that the power will follow the path of least resistance anyway. When you are offroad this means that the tire which is actually planted on a solid object wont get traction if the other one is in something loose. The solution is a locker, which locks the differential forcing both tires to spin at the same speed with equal power no matter what.
An E-locker is simply a factory electronic locker offered in tacomas and late model 4runners.

oh well i cna dream right, thanx for the info ill look into the swap though has to be easier considering the t-100's are bigger than a tacoma or 4runner in the engine bay. And I might not have to do to much custom work for the tundra swap because there similar in size but then you'll have to worry about the suspension I don't know I may like a 3.4 I guess I need to wait and see.

oh and this just crossed my mind. is posi good for off road and if it is do they make them for front and rear diffs? Im new at 4x4's only highperformance 2wd is in this brain lol.
