suspension lift for wifes t4r
I consider myself a newbie even though I own two toyota's, one for 12 years. I've just not done much to them, maintenance goes a long way.
Get to the point:
My wife has a 2000 limited that she uses for field work, not hay or horses, geo-sciences. She works on the Buffalo National River in Arkansas. She collects rock and soil samples, so always has a lot of equipment in the rear. The truck has stock suspension and continually bottoms out with a full load. Sometimes there are two mountain bikes on the back if I go with her.
I've convinced her that it needs a small suspension lift, OME or scabbed together parts from LC's and Tundra's. We will eventually put a plate bumper and winch on the front and probably a plate or tube on the rear (I will build these). The OME system looks great, already put together, all I have to do is install it. OR, I can save a bit of money (I think, haven't priced the parts because I don't know exactly what to get) and buy parts piece meal.
I THINK I need to get a slightly stiffer spring for the rear, about a three inch lift compared to the front at 1.5" which would be the OME. I'm going for the heavy duty or medium in the front and heavy duty in the rear.
Is there anything I've missed in my ramblings? Insights and first hand knowledge greatly appreciated.
Thanks YT.
