Question Question about the front axles on 95 4wd

The boots on the front axles are split wide open and I can smell the lube oil everytime I step into the garage so I know they are shot. My question is do I need to have them replaced even if I don't use 4wd? Money is tight and really dont have the funds for this right now. Or is this something that can leave me stranded if I dont take care of?

There is no load on the shafts, unless it's in 4WD...

Just reboot it, get you some AISIN hubs and put on, and you're fine.
