Front tires are angled funny.
My front passenger side tire tilts inward at the top about an inch while the drivers side tire is straight up and down. How would I fix this to make both tires straight up and down. (That is how they are supposed to be right?) I have a 1985 solid axle underneath my rig.

jack up the front axle put a long metal bar, or 2x4 under the tire, hold the other end and pull up rapidly.(the same way anyone would check for a bad ball jiont on an IFS rig). if you have play you have bad bearings. i believe that is the case casue of the numorus times i've hread how bad TG re-build kits are, assuming you used that kit when u did your SAS

Dude, are you psychic. I did use the trail gear kit. I hope it is just this and not a bent axle. Even better would be if it is what ozzie says.
I saw a couple days ago, somebody mentioned clamping flatiron pieces the same size as your tire to the break rotors and then making the distance between the front of the iron match the distance between the back pieces of iron, by adjusting the tie-rod ends. Is this the best way to go about it?

what kind of SA did you go with? There have been numerous bent axles from guys putting 33" and larger tires on to not so great axels...(or not big enough axles) hopefully it's not a bent axle if it isn't BOR sells a rock proofing axel kit that you can weld on to the axel to the inner "C's" to prevent that bend so you can run a smaller axle with big tires.

the kit that BOR sells is only about 100 bucks and it lets you use significantly bigger tires on a realativly smaller axel so if it isn't bent i would probably install that i've heard of guys running 40 inch tires on a dana 44 with the kit

it might be the trunion bearings, or the trail gear high steer arms. the pin for the trunion bearing could have bent and now its kiked in on the top. do u jump it much? j/k
and did u weld on a truss or knuckle ball gussets? those if not welded on right have a tendancy to warp the housing.

I just replaced my front axle with a 85 I put on the axle ball gussets and top truss after I bent the axle ball on the driver side.
It all started after a hardcore wheeling trip and my tire was pulling inwards on the top on the driver side, so I tore that side apart checking the trunnion bearings and wheel bearings they seemed fine and when I attempted to pull the birfeild out it was jammed up and would not pull out with out some serious grunting It seemed to be jammed at the bottom of the axle ball the bottom was tight and the top had about an 1/8th". In the process of the birfeild removal the inner axle seal was crushed on the top, that was the jam and when it was fully crushed the birfield released. I concluded I bent the axle ball and replaced it this time spending money on axle ball gussets and trusses.

So, I finally took a picture. Is this how they are supposed to look or am I imagining things. If they look bad, is there a link I can follow so that I can do an alignment myself?
