Fender flares and fuel door.

I have a 1988 SR5 x-cab v6. When I bought this, it had the fender flares already installed. I don't know if they are for this model or not, but there is a pretty big misalignment with the flares and fuel door. I have the fuel door, but from the pic I obviously can't use it.

Any tips? Aftermarket solutions etc?

Thanks.

I would just cut out where you need to seems like the easiest fix

I thought about that, only downside I see is it would leave very little on the flare.

take off the flares because they look terrible and cause rust.

Thats a matter of opinion and not really a solution for me as I want to keep them on.

I was thinking maybe have it drop in and push the top in with a lock. Don't know yet.

If you have to keep the flare, you will probably have to fab something. Like you suggested, a drop in with a push in lock from another vehicle. I know the new gen Camaros have a push in lock style, and I'm sure there are others at the wrecking yards. Get the welder out....

Yah I finally came across that in my searches, I wasn't the one who installed them or else I would have done it to begin with
