ect button

What does the ect but do on a 94 runner with v6?

it changes the shift points so it lets it hold the gear longer before shifting.

...and fwiw, "ECT" stands for Electronically Controlled Transmission.

Ah yes, the batman button. The manual states that you get better fuel mileage with it off. I personally like it in traffic and on snowy days(for some reason I find it works nicely with awd/4wd) and have not noticed any drastic change in mileage.

now with those bigger tires i leave it on all the time, makes it feel like i have a tiny bit more power. lol.

I feel I have a little bit more take off with it on. And I can tell a dif. going up hills and what not!

install a tranny temp gauge and watch what it does when you have that button on

im trying to keep it off, but even the 3.4 seems so gutless with out it!
