if youre going to be heavy on the accelerator i would use it, yes. it shouldnt raise gas mileage but i cant argue with the results that some people get so try it out on your own. O/D and ECT have nothing to do with each other. your 4runner has O/D ON normally meaning your transmission can shift into 4th gear. when you press the O/D button, you essentially lock out your 4th gear. ECT just changes the shift points. you can use neither, one, or both at the same time, it doesn't matter.

no, thats the Clutch Start Cancel button. completely different button. ECT is the "electronically controlled transmission" button, which is only found on autos (but not all autos)

It's a 99 Honda Civic Ex and to adjust the volume in his car he has to move the air conditioner level HAHAH!! and his wipers never turn off. a 4 Cylinder 1.8L vs a V6 3.4l. hmmm...?? O and i have been using i see a significant DECREASE in MPG

Stock vs stock a 127hp Civic weighing 2200lbs will edge out a 183hp 4Runner weighing 4000lbs. A 4Runner is toting around 21lbs per HP while the Civic's is 18lbs per Hp.
This is also considerign both vehciles are in good running shape but on paper the 4Runner would lose by a tenth or two or three.
