You could just open your airbox, as Bachamen suggest is this thread:
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...e+open+air+box

and see if you find any difference.

LOL...im just giving you a hard time. I was the same way when I was your age...im only 21 now. For some reason, my grammer and spelling goes out the window on YT..thats probably why i post often. Before you go tearing stuff apart and cutting holes, why dont you just go with a K&N fipk? They dont cut into anything but the downside is that they are more $$$. If your parents find out about the K&N, and dont like it, u can just take it off and sell it. No harm done.

I dont think you are going to get a boat shop closer to leesburg. IF you want, you can send me a check for the amt and ill order it for you. THe K&N air filters are POS...i was referring to the FIPK

well, to be honest you dont really need the deckplate to do it, just cut a hole with roughly 4" diameter and you've accomplished the same thing. the deckplates purpose is to make the mod 'reversible' where you can close the hole to prevent dust and water entering the intake. just cut the hole and put some old window screen across it to keep the big stuff out. or take localmotion up on his generous offer

Also, do you already have an amsoil air filter? or are you going to stick with your K&N.
