Can I swap 1985 4runner to a 1994 v6 rear?

o sorry, anyways i want a longer rear axle and found a 4x4 v6 1994 rear from a 4runner. i have a 4runner and wanted to swap the rear axles over. i know there would be fab involved but is it possible to use the 1994 ifs rear and my 1985 internals?

you can use the 85 third member in a v6 housing. axle shafts are different i believe. most people just use the v6 third member in the 4 cylinder housings though. its stronger then what you are trying to do. also you can just add wheel spacers for a longer axle. if you want a stronger housing you could go with the v6 but the best would be the rock assault axles by TG then you would want to put in the V6 third member and crommoly axle shafts into it. or if you can make an offset diff work you can use axles off of fj80s they are longer then the IFS axles and nice and strong.

and yes it is technically possible to do the swap... It would be slightly better to find a v6 axle off of a truck though. they have leafs to start with.
