Brake Job

Brake Job
So I'm going to do a brake job on my 89 4runner 4x4. It's a 3vze 5sp, but I doubt that matters.
I'm just wondering if there's anything else I should do while doing the brakes?
My hubs could probably use a rebuild, but I think I'm going to wait on that.
Do the hubs need to come off to do the front brakes?
Anything else I should know before doing the job?
I was planning on probably replacing the rotors and drums, along with all the pads, truck has 200k on the clock, what are the odds those parts will spec for wear?
I started by calling local Toyota parts department, and was quoted somewhere in the neighborhood of $650 for everything. So I called NAPA, and was quoted $200! LOL! So yeah, I'll probably have to go NAPA on this one, don't have a lot to spend, anybody have experience with these parts?
Thanks for reading!

you doing the rotors too? If so, better grab yourself some wheel bearings as well as the caliper hardware (pins). Hubs need to come off if doing the rotors but not the pads themselves. If doing the drums, get the hardware kit and adjusters too.
I used all my stuff from autozone.

Good info man, thanks! Do the wheel bearings drop in, or need press work? I have a press but don't particularly like doing press work, lol! Is there actually a kit for the front brake hardware, and regarding the drums, what is the hardware kit, springs? And what is the adjuster tool?

oh forgot one thing with he front brake hardware, in addition to the pins you also have the anti-rattle clips as well.
I did mine with no press. Whether or not that was the right way or not, can't tell ya. lol.

Tirerack.com has a good deal on pads and rotors. Wheel bearings are worth doing while its apart for sure. Make sure you don't over torque the little nuts on the hub dial face, they break very easily. Ask me how I know hehe. Also get a brass punch from napa to get the cone washers off if you haven't done it before.
