Bilstein Shock Size Question???

Bilstein Shock Size Question???
I have read a lot about shocks on this forum...which type are best, pricing, different options..... and have decided to replace my worn out ones with Bilstein's. I have a 1990 extra cab with only 1.5" aal lift in back, torsion bars cranked about 1", and a 2' b/lift (I know, I know) & 33" tires. I just wanted to make sure I am getting the right size. With this small amt of lift, will the heavy duties fit correctly??? BS46-1139 & 1140's to be exact??? I just didn't want to get some that are too short and won't travel correctly. I like the 51##'s series a lot, but they are only for 3+" lift, right? Thanks for any input....

just get the 5100 series, they should make them for anything and to figure out the size take off the old ones and measure. 1-2 inches of lift you usually dont really need a longer shock but you can just add an 1 or whatever you have to the shock length you have now and that will give you the length you need, then go look up the different shock lengths they offer and get the closest one

You just need to order the shock for your truck, nothing more. They will tell what will fit.
FYI, that shock won't fit without shimming with ball joint spacers if you ever decide to use them. Bilstien doesn't make a shock for a 1-2" lift in the traditional sense (longer). They just make a stock length shock which as long as it doesn't limit travel (the bumpstops do that) works.
There's nothing wrong with a body lift, lots of us use them.

Thanks for the input. I shot the folks at eshocks.com an email asking the same question. They just wrote back a 1 line answer.... that the BE5-6583,6583 H5 (5100's) will fit and gave a price. I think they are just trying to up-sell me something.... its looking like the hd's will have to do me.... the bump-stop info kinda answered my???

If you want to know precise lengths you can call Bilstein and ask them. They will tell you all the specs. But there really is no point to that on a stock type application. I'd say run the HD's. I run them on my '87 IFS and like them alot, they've lasted many years of abuse.
