okay i think ive got it now, thanks tried. haha, i did infact think the tension bolt holds the pulley on, and i thought it was on a "track" and when you loosened the adjuster bolt, the tention of the belt would move the pulley down and release the tension.
wich i guess thats kinda how it works, but you hafta loosen the tension bolt first

heres some pics...got the bolt loosened
removed the fan, belts, shroud, and the power steering pulley, (took off the power steering pulley to comfortably get to the alternator bracket bolt)
eww dirty
eww dirty alternator...
new (used)cleaner alternator.
cleaned shroud.
and about 10 mins of busy work later, she started right up, no more altnerator light, and i hit 223,330.
(idk if you can read that lol)
here she was last night
and here she is today, at the beginning of the snow, around 3:30

Mr. Junk..... Why so? Did you park in that ditch again ...and were concerned you wouldn't be able to find her the next day, had you not got her going again? lol. OH YEAH, make sure you have a Corn-Nut/Nutty/Fruity-JamWich today so you have plenty of energy and keep down the Tension while you're frolicking in the snow, k?

but, my truck is the only 4x4 at my house, and with 12-18 on the roads, they probably wouldnt get cleared for about 3 days, making the roads impassible for 2wd...
and idk about you, but im not walking 5 miles in a foot of snow, carrying a 50 lb. cow feed bag, uphill with wind.
lol, jk, but i wanted to make sure i could feed the cows.
but thank good shes running, being at home and knowing i cant leave makes me feel so claustraphobic, atleast i know if i have to go somehwere other then the cow pen i can get there, like if we run out of food or something idk.

forgot to mention, without a belt tension mesurer, setting the belts to the right tension was tough, when i first cranked it, it started but sounded like it was struggling, so i shut it off loosened the belt, and still it was struggling, so i loosened the alternator belt, so now one belt is soo loose its squeeling and slipping, and the other is too tight for the engine to run. about 6 tries later, and one belt too loose and one belt too tight problems, i finally got it right. when it snows, i usually take off my power steering as an aid to keep myself "more focused on the road, and to what im doing", but after that fiasco, i think ill drive with my power steering on this time.
