88 pickup 22re weird dash light problem

Hey guys. I bought my yota about a month ago. It's an 88 pickup with the 22re in it. 4x4 5 speed.

Anyways 2 different times now within about 2 weeks apart I noticed something weird. While going through gears right when it's time to shift both the battery and parking brake light come on until either I shift gears or let the rpm die down. I'm guessing it comes on around 2-3,000 rpm. I was just wondering if this is anything bad or just some wiring issues. It doesn't do it all the time. Only 2 times now since I've got it.

Also is Castrol GTX High mileage synthetic blend good to run in this truck. 10-30.
Truck has 223 thousand miles and runs like a champ. Sounds like it has a bad lifter though. Just a small ticking noise when idle. can't hear it unless your right by the engine.

The lights coming on is your alternator not charging at higher RPM's, replace the brushes in it and you should be good.

x2 on brushes. About $15 for the brush/holder assy. at the dealership and pretty easy to swap out. Or you can spend $3-5 for just the brushes and solder them into your existing holder. Either way, avoid remanufactured alternators like the plague.

Probably not hurting anything but high mileage motors like a little thicker oil. I run Rotella T6 5w-40 year round in my 20R & my 3VZ. Awesome stuff. The ticking you described sounds perfectly normal and might even disappear with 5w-40.
