79 2wd trans swap
I just picked up a 79 2wd that has a stock 4-speed. I'm trying to get better mileage out of the 20R. I wanted to swap in a 5-speed, which one would be a direct fit?
Looking farther ahead, I may do a 3rz swap when this 20R dies. What 5-speed do the 3rz's have behind them? I have heard that they both have the same bellhousing bolt pattern, is this true? bottom line is, I only want to do the trans swap once, so I might as well get the right one to start with.
I'm guessing it's a W56?
