4.70 gears with a doubler ..
Ok I just got a doubler for my truck.. To run two transfer cases.. Both cases have 2.80. But I was thinking about adding 4.70 to one of the cases.. I am running 35in tires and I have 5.29 gears and a SAS. Does anyone know if the stock axles can hold up, to the 2.80, and 4.70 gears. Thank you

There's a lot of people running that combo with no problems.
How you drive it matters. If your going to run a big engine or jump it ,maybe not.
If you're running a 4 banger or v6 and drive sensibly I think you'll be fine.
I hope so because that's what I'm getting ready to put in AND do a 3.4 swap.

It should be alright. I agree with wabbit, but I wouldn't say it's stupid not to. It's like changing your water pump with a timing belt change. You should do it for peace of mind.

To upgrade to 23 spline you have to do 23 spline dual adapter and 23 spline 4.7 gears together. If you are doing both already, yes it's stupid not to upgrade since it costs zippo to do so.
