3.4 ISR/Deckplate Mod - Good or Bad for mileage?
So i am wondering if people who have done the ISR and/or the Deckplate mod to the 3.4 are getting any better mileage and/or performance? If not, do you believe the increase in performance is worth the loss in mileage?

Hey man,
The reason I moved this thread is because this has been talked about a lot.
I would do a search for "deckplate isr mileage" and see what you find. I did it and I got about 40 results, all kinds of opinions and stuff.
Hopefully that will help you, if you still have questions after searching let us know!

I did the Deckplate mod and added an AirRaid M.I.T. on my old '99 and I loved bein' able to hear the noise it made. I noticed that the throttle was more responsive and I got slightly better mileage but that was ruined after I realized how cool it sounded...

you can buy the deckplate at any marine store, such as boater's world or any store like that. and the airaid m.i.t. stand for "modular intake tube" or something like that and it basically replaces your stock intake tube with a smoother one, all while using the stock airbox, which makes it cheaper to do than a complate intake.

Nah,I got over that being in the import drag scene since '95 and Honda intake howl is so much more dramatic when the silencer is removed. We did that on my friend's '00 Integra Type R and it was so night and day and it made people look over and gawk especially when the VTEC changeover occured.
If I even just have radio a little up I can't hear the howl but I know it's there on the outside.

yeah, the "awe" factor will definitely make your gas needle go down a lot faster than normal. but it's good to know that after, when normal driving habits return, that people are reporting no decrease in the mileage department.
