22r Cold Hard Start

Anyone else have this problem with a carb'd truck and being 10 degree outside?

Every carb'd vehicle I have ever owned has done this so I am leaning towards normal. Did this before and after rebuild, and with/without weber.

Just want to be sure.

It does do it at say 30 or so as well, just not this bad.

I know with the clutch out and the trans fluid cold it's a drag on the motor and a slight drop in RPM is normal as well.

Like I said in the video if I up the high idle setting and I do a warm start where it's on the high idle at it current setting it will idle at about 2,500.

IMO it does not stay on the high idle long enough either. Maybe tightening up on the choke some will solve this as well. Choke setting is what it was from the weber factory have not touched it.

Timing set at 0, only the main vac advance is hooked up per weber instructions.

No EGR per weber instructions.

Fuel pressure set at 4psi using holley regulator. .

Fuel return blocked per weber instructions.

Using replacement mechanical fuel pump (since rebuild) from dare I say Autozone. It does rap a little bit.

170psi across all cyls for compression.

Cam timing a little off due to .010 block shave. New head.
