I have a 2000 4Runner with a 2.5-3" Old Man EMU suspension lift in front and rear and the front has softened up over the years and I'd like to level it out with a leveling kit but dont know if going up anymore would put stress on the cv joints or stearing stem. I only went with the 2.5" so it wouldnt affect badly so will going up 1" or 1.5" in the front with a coil spacer kit (i know, not the best move) be a bad idea? Im on a budget and really dont go off road that much anymore so i am ok with the coil spacer for the front. I just dont want that 1-1.5" put me over the limit for adding stress to CVs? Maybe it wont at all, Im not sure.

If I go this route should I go with aluminum spacers or are the high density plastic ones ok?

Any quick help would be appreciated, fatbobsgarage is open today for a few hours and I wanted to get an order in.

I wouldnt exceed 3'' of total lift from stock. So If your original lift is sagging, then id just get new lifted coils, or ride hight adjustable shocks. I wouldnt add a lift to a lift if thats what your saying?

Do you know if you have a diff drop kit already? Their cheap, just a couple spacers and longer bolts that drop your front diff 3/4'' or so, helps with cv angle.

this is a 3'' lifted coil with a diff drop. It could go higher but it would actually lose performance and kill cv boots.

yeah i guess youre right, i'd be adding a lift to a lift. I think the front OME suspension lift kit only adds around 2" so putting a 1" spacer would technically bring me to 3" total. I dont have the cash to get new springs or shocks up front. Plus they'd just settle back down to where I am now.

I'll look into the rear diff lowering kit. Who sells one?

New springs wont sag. But if you keep adding spacers to the springs you have now it will keep sagging.

There only $150, dont waste your time on a spacer, or youll just have to keep adding. These coils ride awesome and dont sag, even with a winch and a arb bumper.

(edit) hmmm, It says they dont work with stock shocks, but I know people have done it.
I know theres other options for springs though.

I got these shocks and they worked fine with the coils, but they dont say their any different on the lower setting then stock shocks. sooo Im not sure why it says that the toytec coils wont work with stock shocks.

There is a 3/8'' ish spacer above the shock that has to be removed to install the bilstien shock I posted here. So Those shocks must be about a half inch longer ish, but that doesnt seem like it would make it not work. Lest to me. Maybe sombody on here knows??
