1990 Yota 22re slow start and high idle

Yep its thats screw..
If its in all the way iac has been defeated
If its out more than 3 turn look further
I have had some that do run A bit fast but try that iac screw if defeated just adjust stop linkage for good idle i can say this bc i live in Hawaii and will not have to adjust for cold hot etc ideally throttle plate should be fully closed pulling air only from the iac bypass at idle hence the screw ECU contols you gas flow after that using the maf sensor water temp o2 and a whole lot of othrr stuff

Are you talking about the screw on the top of the motor? If so then it is so loose it is barely finger tight. The little black canister and stud sticking out of it by the throttle is shown in the pic attached

i asked this question about this screw 2 days ago,,,,that black screw with the spring is for idle as well ,,it controls the idle so when the A/C is on and for Your POWER STEERING ,,,so when there extra strain on the motor..

Perfect thanks yotie my 3 of my 22res do not have that but i have seen it before and wondered what its purpouse was. Wagon needs too look at both now, i think po may have adjusted it.
