I?m going CRAZY!!!

Can someone please help me out?

Hello everyone!!!

I?m a newbie to YotaTech?. I am having some problems; I just purchased 2004 4x2 4Runner limited V8.
I bought it in California , and I brought it down to Puerto Vallarta Mexico . I was in a rush, so I did not notice that the owner?s manual was missing. They are 6 months from opening the dealer near by, but I am not sure when or how to give my ride maintenance and I also have some electrical problems. I really need your help with any type of solution, since I?m not mechanically or electrically inclined.
Here it goes:

1- My alarm is not working, the car beeps once I lock the doors, however, when I try to open the door (with the doors locked) the alarm doesn?t go off. Is there a way I can fix this myself (the panic button does make a sound go off, but I am not sure if this is how the alarm should sound)?

2- How often should I service? What should the service include? and what type of oil, Trans fluid etc should I use?
If someone thinks I can do the maintenance myself (which I don?t think I can) please explain to me how to do it? (This is probably much to ask for)

3- Which speed is overdrive? D or 4? The max speed in downtown Puerto Vallarta is 40miles, I am constantly braking and going up 40?-60? hills (we have many corves on the mountains. Should I be in another gear besides 4?

4- How can I download an owner?s manual? The mail system here is not reliable, and I would like to know everything my ride can do and needs.

5- Gas is not as clean in Mexico as in the US , I am getting 15.6 MPG it is a small town with lots of stops, but 15.6 MPG is pretty bad, I was doing 18 MPG in L.A. and 20MPG on the freeway. The gas stations sell additive for your tank, is it worth it? If so, which additive would you recommend, and how often should I put some in?

6- On my way down, I lost one of the center caps on my rim. I called around, but they are telling me the rims are discontinued, they are 20?? Kaizer pylon chrome.

If anyone can give me a hand with my problem, I would greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks,

Marcel

1-The "alarm" is not designed to go off when you pull on the handle from the outside. If you lock the doors and open the truck from the inside the alarm will go off. Not sure if there is a way to change this
2-Oil change 5000-7500 miles, more with synthetics. I grease all fittings at the same time as oil changes. Check the air filter at the same time as your oil change also. Transmission fluid 100,000 miles plus before a change due to the sealed tranny.
3- D is overdrive. Its a 5 speed tranny so 4 is the gear you put it in for towing. Other than towing no other gear is needed other than D. The computer can control the tranny well enough.
4-Don't know where you can get it.
5-You did say there were a lot of hills and stop and go traffic. That destroys gas mileage so I would figure its a combination of bad gas, terrain, and driving habits. In my experience additives are a waste of money
6-Don't know.

1) Are you sure you have an alarm on this vehicle? Standard package is just keyless entry. An alarm is an OPTION.

2) http://smg.toyotapartsandservice.com/

3) D is overdrive
