Angry Automatic Headlights

Have the 03' sport 4runner the manual says that the headlights will automatically shut off (if the remote is pressed twice)doesn't happen was also told by the salesperson that all units with the DRL have automatic headlights am I doing something wrong ???there is no chime or any noise what-so ever if the lights are left on and the the door is opened (only chimes with the key in the ignition)

Don't know if the 4th gen is different from 3rd gen in this aspect, but in my 02, when I shut the engine off, the lights will stay on. As soon as I open the door, the lights will go off. Hence, no need for chime.

Ditto!

Ditto on my 2000 SR5. Turn off engine, open door, lights go off period.

ok, turns out the drivers side ground activated door sensor is broke... well, it doesn't hold a steady 'door open' signal for more than a second, it seems the light control needs atleast a second or 2 of the door being open for it to work.

so, i believe the rear doors use the same switch, i'm swapping it out with the rear door...

yay... and i think i'm talking to myself haha
