Bulldog ... based on your parts, I found this:

http://www.firestoneairbag.com/websi...yota-frame.htm
2003-2004:
KT09115 = 2-1/2" Complete Lift Front & Rear ($249.95)
KT09118 = 2" Rear Coil Spacers Only ($139.95)
KT09116 = 2-1/2" Front Lift Only ($99.95)

Would you know if KT09115 is the combo of what you had? Weird that the price is higher for the combo.

the a-arms shouldn't rub. only happens depending on what kind of wheels you get.
when I added my 285's I didn't rub on the a-arms at all...

hope that helps. But 285's are alot to ask for w/o a lift so a lift is required. you won't rub ALOT but will rub somewhat just like the previous gen 4runners. if you don't want to bother with trimming then 265/70's will be the best bet. if you don't mind trimming abit then 285's would be cool. If you do some offroading then expect more rubbing.

good luck!

Lance,

I'm confused again ... with the Daystar lift (2 and 2.5") and 17" stock wheels, will 285s rub offroad?

As one can guess, I'm just trying to get another 1 to 2 inches of lift over and above the Daystar/Revtek lift and 285s will do that by default. By adding 1" to both sides of the front wheel (2" in total), it's real tight without a lift. But with a lift, it might just be okay. I don't have the $$$ to test this theory right now and the shop isn't about the let me experiment. I'm hoping someone has been there done that, but with the stock wheels.

Timber725 just got his lift recently (Revtek) and added 285's (MTR)w/ the stock limited 17" wheels and he stated that it rubbed on the a-arm severely. Therefore, he's changing to 16" wheels (as he can as he has a 03 limited which came w/ the same size brakes as the sr5). He purchased his tires from Discount Tire/America Tire where they will work with you until you can get your tires to fit properly.

Read up on this thread to get a better idea of what's going on with his setup:
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f117/test-fitted-tires-my-truck-today-31812/

285's will rub when you offroading no doubt. During normal driving that won't be the case. Keep in mind that this is all dependent on what kind of wheels you get (offset and backspacing - makes the diff here).

Thanks Lance,

I understand now. I'd prefer to stick with the 17" wheel (for now) so will go with the 265/70/17. I like the idea of being able to install these without a lift so I have time to get the lift done right.

psss 4route... just get the 285's! it'll rub but just trim ofcourse you'll have to figure out what kind of 17" wheels to get that won't hit the upper arms or any other part... doh!

well, trouble is, i'd like to have some bumper left after the trimming.

and which 285s?

you know the black alloys over at wheelersoffroad.com ... ? they are 16" and it says they fit around the calipers, have you heard anything about whether those might fit??

doubtful that those 16's would fit but you can get one and try I suppose. best you ask them and see what they say since the new 4th gens have larger discs esp your sport model.

as for which 285's, that's totally up to ya mt/r's, bfg mt's, duelers m/t... the list goes on forever. also the price does come into play as well so you'll have to think about that one.

That sucks man I know how you feel.

My 2nd gen lift was missing a part and it took FOREVER to get. (I'm not very patient) .

ALWAYS a good idea when doing anything project related to check everything and make sure ALL parts are there. Good advice.

Mark, hope you get that bolt soon. I hate waiting for things or running out to the shop to get a tool.

I only used the deep sockets to hammer in the new bolts. It is just convinient, but I'm sure there are many ways to skin that cat. I think the Daystar lift kit has longer bolts due to the bigger top spacer.

Good luck!!!

Hope to see pics by tomorrow.

4route the dentist might not approve of you fab facility
