4th gen lift frustration!
So I'm 17 and I got my used 05 t4r sport with about 80k miles on her. Since then(last October), I've been trying to find a suspension lift that will work with the x-reas system. I'm completely avoiding CO spacers as there is no camber adjustment and I don't want my tires to wear funny. PLEASE HELP.

Look above in the sticky as to modifications. It is pretty simple, the X-REAS system is a custom toyota designed suspension set up. If you want TO keep X-REAS, then from all accounts spacers are all you can do; as there are no 3rd party suspension components that will work with the XREAS, and even if you were to "build" a shock that could operate in it; the XREAS system is closed and has a set amount of fluid and the different design of the shock would throw it out of whack.
NOW. You can remove the XREAS and save it for later FYI. If you really wanna do a suspension lift, this is what you have to do.
Also. I hate you. 17 and have a 05 4runner, market 14-18k. Your parents must be nice! I am 30, and when I was your age, I saved up all my money and bought an old school Subaru. Cost me 1k, and I loved it.
You are probably new to wheeling, so I will tell you. XREAS is designed mainly for on-road conditions. That is where you will see the benefit. That said, without it, your runner will drive just fine. I had and LOVED my 1990 4runner and people thought those were top heavy death mobiles. I LOVED that truck and was sad when I had to let her go. 250k on a twice rebuilt engine.. figured, time to say adios!
So. If you really want to get a big ole' suspension lift to throw some huge tires on, gotta scrap the XREAS.
IF. However, you are just getting into off roading; a spacer lift isn't horrible. Most people I know (me included) started there.
Just food for thought.

What's a t4r?
Agreed, if you want to go big, you'll have to loose the XREAS from what I've read. If I were you, I'd go with the ICON Stage 6 suspension lift and clear 33's...should only cost about $5g's homie....

5 grand.. Buying this from my parents cost me 10 grand lol. Yes gvolc, I paid my life savings at 17 to buy it, still a deal and a half . I am not new to offroad, my dad has a 73 ford f100 on 39s that I use just about every weekend. Just trying to get the 4runner into the woods a bit but I'm clueless about the x-reas. Thank you both though!

Guess it comes down to what you want to do with it. If this is going to be your mainly ON road, but take off road to play car, which it sounds. Then 32's (which fit almost stock) or 33's (which you need to lose the X-REAS) will treat you just fine.

Ditch the XREAS and get the ICON , see my thread ICON Coilovers,
expensive, yes, but it will be the last shock that you will ever buy.
put a set on my 03 4Runner Saturday and had them in the dirt on Sunday, what a difference! If you're looking for a leveling kit, I have one for sale.
Before - leveling kit.
After - ICON
Don't forget, you'll need upper control arms that can handle the extra lift.
