will a '04 taco trd elocker diff mount up to mine?

i've got a friend who's looking for a tundra/t100 rear axle and is willing to sell me his axle. i've done some research and found that you can take the elocker off and put it on a 2nd gen diff, but i was wondering if would it be possible to mount the elocker diff (the whole 3rd member) up to mine and replace the 4.10's w/ my 4.56s? so basically only replace the pinon and main ring gear. i know the diffs are different sizes (taco is 8.25" and 2nd gens are 8") but figured if anyone has any thoughts.

The 3-locked 3rd members are the same 8" size.

They will fit in your housing but you will need to cut out a few inches of the housing to clear the elocker, then you will need to drill and tap 4 new holes for 4 new studs.

I would get the gears done by a certified gear mech with a new ring and pinon set, no point trying to penny pinch with gears.

that was i was reading at http://carterswebsite.com/4runner/mods/locker/
for some reason i was thinking that the locker mechanism was all on the 3rd member. i think i'll call around to some places here in flag and see if i can find one. at least the main ring gears are the same. thanks

I truly think for the amount of work its easier to get the whole axle and plop your correct gears in.
