Who's installed a power inverter in their truck/4runner?
I'm looking into installing about a 1000w power inverter into my truck to be able to run power tools/aircompressor/big lights/microwave off my truck. Anyone have experience with how these work and which brands you like?
Which brand and wattage inverters are you using in your vehicle?
I've been looking at the Cobra here: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...ource=googleps
I thought it was pretty cool cause it has a usb port then I could charge my ipod on that instead of buying a car charger, but that's not a decision maker or anything though.
I've already upgraded my alternator and wiring for my winch so I won't have any trouble keeping power to it when needed. And I would hard wire it into my truck, I wouldn't use the alligator clips.

I have a 750 watt inverter in my runner. Can run my grinder when the truck is on, but not enough for the sawzall. I should have gone bigger, but it works for what i need it to. Used 5 gauge wire.
