Whats my truck worth?

Hey all,

Moving next month, its gonna cost me a grand to have my truck moved(Too many vehicles, not enough drivers so I would have to pay to have it hauled).

Wondering if it would make more sense to sell my truck here, get up north, and buy another, possibly one with a v6 or a turbo.

So, I bought it for 1400, dropped WELL over 2k on it and more man hours than I wish to admit.

4 brand new fuel injectors. New fuel filter.

2 brand new wheel cylinders, and drums, new pads in front.

2 new wiper blades

The 4x4 doesnt work, prev owner swore it did, stupid me didn't test it till after I bought it. When it is engaged theres a grinding noise.

There is a stripped bolt in the block, last bolt hole near the firewall on the manifold, causes an exhaust leak.

Interior is so so condition. Most of it is pretty good, dash should be replaced, there is currently a 'dash cover' on it.

Entire exhaust is brand new from the block to the rear tailpipe. The Cat is... **ahem** gutted... EGR valve is by passed.

Prior to the exhaust leak/cat issue, it passed the cali smog test with flying colors.

Frame is in great condition, really no rust. Body has a few dings, but overall in pretty damned good condition.

New carpet in the truck. 3 pieces (front seat area, backseat area, bed) front looks real sharp, backseats look real sharp, bed is ok. I still have the original carpet in the back as well.

Engine wiring has all been replaced, put new connectors on everything.

Oil pan leaks.

240k miles / salvage title

Lifted a bit, not sure exactly how much, as I bought it lifted.

32 inch tires, almost brand new, still has the rubber tab things on the tires.

Shell is in good condition, glass is perfect, tint is in Ok condition. The prev. owner mounted a CB antennae on it, I was planning to fix that this week with some bondo was sealed with RTV till today when I took it off, was planning to do a bondo job on it, but couldn't find my bondo.

All the seals arround the doors/shell are in good condition, keeps the water/air out.

4 New speakers, and new cd player stereo with mp3 player input.

Sunpro tach on dash.

Guages work perfect.

New TPS sensor. The connector needs to be replaced eventually as I couldnt find a new one. Works fine with a zip tie at the moment.

Leaf spring helpers installed, currently has short leaf springhelpers on it, I also bought the long style, but never installed.

Has GT grant steering wheel.

Has new center console with 4 cup holders.

New MSD brand igniter coil

New wires / cap / spark plugs / air filter / etc.

Current tags/registration, no back fees.

o yeah, and its a 1986 white toyota 4runner, 4cyl non turbo, 4x4 with IFS.

So uh... whats it worth? I know I will never get back what I paid and put into it, just wondering if I can get enough to justify selling it, and buying another one in 2/3 months.

How so dude? Tell me your secrets. Do you know something I don't? I'll give you $5k for a Cali smog exempt 86.

Not worth it if you ask me. Keep it! Do you think you will find a rust free car like yours in the land of wet? Store it and come get it later.

We are holding at 1975 as the exempt year. 1976 and above has to be smogged. That rule stopped moving forward in 2000. Correct me if I'm wrong, and God I hope you know something I don't.

Trust me, I was pulling for ya brother! I wish. I would be off the hook next year on my runner and in goes a 4.7. Not in this lifetime. I think Arnie has a lot to do with it.

i just picked up my 4runner for 900 bucks with 160k on the ticker. mine is in need of a lot more work then yours, and mine has a little bit of rust. i think you could fetch 2-3k for it. most around here that are in good condition are going for 1500-5000. i just happened to find someone with one that had sat for a while and then wanted to get rid of it. it was posted on cl on friday, spoke to the guy on saturday, saw it on sunday, drove it home on monday lol.
