What is this part?
It's been a while since I've posted anything! I guess the 4runner has just been so problem free I haven't been on in forever. I have 242K on the 3VZE and counting.
I had a vibration that was bothering me since I had the truck. Turned out the companion flange bolt needed tightened. I it was vibrating so bad I was loosing oil through the transfer case. While I was down there I saw a cracked mount of some sort. Can you please help me name the part so I can replace it.
I googled what I thought it could be but found nothing that matched the part.

It's not really a mount, it's just there to dampen harmonics. Basically changes the frequency parts resonate at so that they don't vibrate from harmonics. You see things like that a lot on newer cars. Just little blocks of metal or rubber welded or bolted to random places.

Transfer Dynamic Damper.
33183 in the diagram on the following page. Available for anywhere between $330 and $400. Or you could get one from the junkyard for $10. Or (my personal recommendation) don't worry about it and leave it alone. It has no real purpose and you will probably never notice a difference.
