Yeah, I actually just took out the #1 plug and put my thumb over it. Then, when I would crank it over by hand, and when the compression stroke came and it was at top dead center I would align the distributor to #1.

Sorry for the rude comment. I do realize that I am a BIG idiot and I apologize for the rude comment. I was pissed at my truck and took it out on my fellow Toyota enthusiasts...sorry

you're lucky to get even any help with that kind of attitude.... I woulda told you to check the sensor in you rear quater panel that controls the firing order and needs to be reset.. LOL
