traben27's going to moab
That's right, I'll be heading out to Moab for 3 days with my family at the end of the school year (end of April). I've been compiling a list of things I want/need to do before I head out there, but I'm looking for a little input from those of you that make frequent trips.
What I Need to Fix:
-Whatever's going on with my steering (haha broad I know)
-Slow oil leak (from oil cooler I believe)
-Even slower power steering leak
What I Need to Install/Buy:
-Downey Idler Arm Brace
-WabFab Sliders
-Some type of roofrack for gear
-Fullsize Spare (will a 33x10.50 fit in the stock location if I try and bend the guide tabs?)
What Gear I have in the Back:
-Tow Strap
-Stuff For Changing out the Spare
-Oil, Power Steering Fluid
-First Aid Kit
I know I don't have much right now, but what else do you guys feel are essentials? Also, I haven't decided what trails I'm going to hit up yet, but looking at the list on 4x4now, I think I should be able to do up to a 3.5 rated trail, any recommendations? All of my mods are listed in my signature, just fyi.

People to go with you. You can have so much MORE fun with a small group, especially if one knows the trails.
A lot of the trails are remote, and there isn't a whole lot in Moab - especially on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. If you think breaking it could strand you, you need to have a plan on how to fix it. I would include a CV axle and a complete tierod assembly (both ends and the adjuster).
IMHO, you do NOT want to be there the week before or after Easter.

I do know that there was too much traffic on the trails. Finally gave up on Rusty Nail. Did see some guys drag a brand new 4runner limited up the first big obstacle. Lots of fun.
