timeing?

i searched and couldent really find anything, but here goes, the motor was rebuilt like 10,000 miles ago, and when idleing cold or warm its misfires, and only runs ok when fully advanced? and stumbles when you give it a little gas.. this is an 86 carbed 22R all the vac likes were replaced recently as well as the cap and rotor and plugs...and sombody goobered up the crankshaft pulley so i cant tell when the motor is at TDC unless i pull the valve cover and look at the cam gear...

diff question but when you hit the brakes is the truck supposed to idle up? or is it a sign of a bad booster??? thanks alot

I haven't seen a 22R distributor rotor in a long time, but is it possible to be off a bit? Did it run the same before you replaced the cap and rotor and plugs? Were the plugs gapped correctly?

I had a misfire/stumble at lower rpm and it ended up being a burnt valve. Not saying you have a burnt valve, but a compression test will tell you.

sounds electrical to me. have a good look at all you wiring from your igniter to the plugs. and double check your firing order. i dont know what it is for the 22re but i am sure you can find it on here somewhere.
