Sorry for the slow reply. I've been away a few days.
I unplugged the TPS. I adjusted mine several times after getting bad "under hood" readings. Each time I adjusted it, I rechecked the readings and they were fine. I drove a few miles and the simptoms returned. It eventually got worse and worse. I adjusted it one more time then did the ECM checks and came up with three bad signals that were all related to the TPS. I haven't had the money to replace it so I unplugged it to see what would happen and it's been running fine although I think I am using a little more fuel. My plan is to replace it in a couple of more weeks.
Here is the link to the manual http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-buchanan/93fsm/
Under "emmissions" it shows how to check the EGR. The TPS is under emmisions too.
Under "MFI" it shows how to check fuel pump, cold start injector, fuel pressure regulator, VAF, throttle body, yada yada, as well as the ECM.
Good luck.
