Moved to 84-85 Trucks & 4Runners.

I couldn't tell real well by your avatar what year your truck is so I guessed.
The thread you originally posted this in was the "Check Out My Truck" section where users aren't able to reply to threads.

Any tech-related question needs to be posted in a sub-forum under the "Toyota SUV & Truck Tech" section.

Hope you're able to find an answer to your question.
If this ends up being the wrong year-model section tell me and I'll move it again.

I think blue smoke indicates that you need piston rings.

I can never get that whole white or blue smoke means coolant or rings or head gasket thingy.

did you drive in the water at Pismo?

Please do not post the same question several times... put it in the correct section and it will get answered. i have merged the 2 threads that people have replied in, and deleted the 2 threads that were blank. no need for 4 threads asking the same thing.

edit... make that 3 threads merged....

LOL @ mods.

It could be any number of things with that description. My truck has a bad valve seal and it blows blue smoke in the morning. The sound, is it rhythmic and regular like "clunk clunk clunk clunk" or more like "clunk...clunk clunk... ... ... clunk"? Also what kind of fuel did you put in? Sometimes when its hot my truck pings, which could sound like glass breaking. Is it Fuel Injected or Carb?

Seriously.... one more "new" thread about this topic and you're going to get to take a Vacation. Posting several threads about the same topic is considered spamming..... this is your only public warning!!!

so before this thread goes down hill anymore....

i would try some fresh gas + carb cleaner additive.

"breaking glass" is hard to imagine when describing accelerating.. maybe try taking video of it to record the sound.

does it make the sound when you rev it up in neutral? or does it only do it when moving? have you looked under the front end to see if anything LOOKS wrong. torn CV boots, stuff hanging, grease in places it shouldnt be.

did you get really stuck and managed to get sand in your hubs?

were you following someone really close and possible sucked sand thru the air filter and into the carb/intake?

anything else you can tell us besides
* "went to pismo"
* "came home on night"
* "truck has weird sound"
* "you think somethings is wrong"
* "step on gas and sounds like "a glass that breaks" "
* "when hot, blows blue smoke on start up"
* "you were goin 70 miles per hour..."
* "you think the Tachometer wasnt goin right"

that isnt a whole lot of information to go off of.
