so what is the best way...
what is the best way to lift an old saggy 1986 4runner to above stock height in the rear?
AAL? (i heard they just wear back down to a sag over time)
Rearching? (i heard the "right way" to re arch them costs 250$ ea LEAF!!)
Shackles? (would they even do anything with old leafs?)
New leafs? (have no idea where to find them or the price)
ANY OTHER OPTIONS??? thank you ??PRICE RANGE??

how much lift are you looking for? either way best option is springs.
if you're looking for like 4" lift in the rear longer springs + shackles is the way to go
for like 2" of lift (over stock) you would probably be best getting stock height springs and longer shackles, or even rearching with new shackles

you can look on the downey site and they run close to 200 bucks, not bad at all. either 2 or 3 inches.
heres the link, choose ur vehicle.

ive got kinda the same type thing, my leaves are flat and i want to lift the whole thing, so im goin with the new leaves.the shackels will lift it, maybe an inch, but truthfully, u'll get a better ride and such out of the new leaves.

Try these... will make your ride a TON better
http://www.trail-gear.com/rearsuspension.html in the 3" kit, add BJ spacers up front and you will sit a hair above level in the back.

What are you going to do to the front to match the 3" above stock, and what do you really use the truck for? 3" above stock is very different than where you are now.

Well BJ spacers will give you about 1.5", you dont want to have to touch your t-bars.... runners have a 1" sag, so 2.5" is going to be level, 3 will be over level.. so thats your call, the Downey leaves will be okay, but IMO the OME's will ride better.. Depending on how much weight you carry I would get either the Medium or the Heavy Duty OME's, and a set of 1.5" longer shackels, then the BJ spacers up front and you will ride very nice and sit close to level, if not a hair above.... If you dont do rocks, don't bother with the longer leafs.
Allpro 1.5" longer shackles are $79 and OME springs can be had for about 93 bucks.. http://www.toyotaoffroadparts.com/OL...E_lift_kit.htm
Depending on weight and use you can choose between soft or firm shocks. I would replace all 4 shocks...
