Removing unneeded smog equipment?

I have a 91 SR5 with a v6, it is equipped with all the smog equipment California requires. I live in Nevada and am required to have none of it. I would like to remove as much as possible to increase access to needed equipment as well as reducing cost of maintenance/replacement of unneeded . any suggestions in locating what and how info?
An example; my Cat and muffler are rotted out, I would like to replace it with a new muffler and tail pipe(no Cat). is there anything I need to remove/jump out/change or disconnect to not effect the running of the truck?
