This is referring to the clutch pedal bracket, it is mounted to the firewall and has the pivot point and mount for the pedal. Well after thousands of pushes of the clutch pedal, it fatigues the metal and cracks it, which pulls the metal away from the firewall. When this happens, you push the clutch pedal to the floor, but it actually isnt fully disengaging the clutch since the metal is flexing/bending. The symptoms are that the clutch isnt fully disengaging (with the clutch to the floor, it still wants to drive the truck when in any gear) and it is EXTREMELY hard to get in or out of any gear. I know this because it happened to me. I replaced my master and slave cylinder, got a rebuilt trans, and then finally found out about the cracked bracket. I just bent it back into place and welded it.

Oh and I recommend the Centerforce Dual Friction clutch. I have this in my truck, and my dad has it in his Xterra, awesome clutches.

i have done some research and I am not the 1st to have the centerforce explode...they laughed at me when i asked them if there was a warranty...I could under stand if the clutch broke b/c of me but it was a manfacuture defect..I have owned the centerforece in other cars and liked them no problems but to sheer the material on the pressure plate side off with approx 150 horse is riducilous. The flywheel side had approx 33% that sheared off. That is a manfacture defect and i have spoke with other people that had this happen in their 4 runner/truck

Is the Heavy Duty OEM clutch Marlin sells an organic or ceramic clutch? They sell "Ceramic" then they have this clutch thats detailed out as something Marlin pieced together as his "perfect" clutch. Heavy Duty OEM...

How does it feel?

I have the downey adapter for the 3.4 V6 clutch. Yeah, I have a 3.4 clutch on my 22re, it grabs very nice now.

I had a 3.0 clutch on my 22re before. It doesn't require anything special. I believe the 2nd gen runners already had trhat clutch installed. It's an easy upgrade Protrux did it for me originally. But when I rebuilt my motor, I had the opprotunity to grab the downey setup cheap, so on it went. Basically it is a custom flywheel with a 3.4 pressure plate and disc, as far as I know.
