Problem with part throttle...

Hey guys,
This is a great forum, full of information and knowledgeable people!

My '86 4Runner 22RE runs fairly well, but when I give it very light throttle, I get stuttering and very little power. I have to give it more throttle to clear up the stutter and restore the power. Any ideas as to what could cause this?

Thanks!

This happens while driving and under slight load.

At idle (when hot) it sits around 900-950, when cold, around 800rpms.

this kinda sounds like the common "stuttering" issue many, including myself, have ran into...

Id grab a feeler guage, and a volt meter and test your TPS (throttle position sensor)
