Oil in air intake tubes, 3.0 Why
Help again. Dport and I were cleaning my throttle body today on my 3.0. We pulled the air cleaner and tubes out so as to get to the throttle body without problems.
We pulled the tube from the air cleaner to the throttle body and as we pulled it out OIL began to pour out of the collection box at the bottom of the V shape tube, believe it to be part of that whole ISR crap. We traced it to the driver side valve cover.
The vent from the valve cover goes into the intake tube right at the throttle body. I first thought that this was a PCV problem but there is no valve on the valve cover. It is blowing oil into the throttle body and gumming up my butterfly. Why does it do this? How do you fix it? PS - ISR mod is coming soon, that’s for dang sure! All this plastic is rediculous!

Pretty sure it was the PCV valve. I went ahead and replaced it and the gromet. Cost $6.00 from Advance auto parts for both. PCV valve was blocked pretty bad!
