the bushings on the shaft of the gear lever[P,R,N,D,etc.]..the rubber ones.
so I got it on,but the metal peice thats inserted in the rubber grommet popped out. Will i have any trouble without that peice?

I took off the longer linkage down the 4by shifting rod near the driver side of the trani (bolt together linkages), its ALOT easier than the connection under the shifter itself, but now that you already took that apart... goodluck :S and maybe get some help from someone with really small fingers.. but fyi for next time.
