need help de pinning the underhood fuse box 2nd gen 4runner
greetings all,
I just picked up a 1990 4runner with 4 spun rodbearings... engine build is finished and went back in yesterday. Now i need to finish up a few things like wiring repairs.
It seems there was a short in the MFI system at some point and two of the wires on the underside of the engine bay fuse box let the magic smoke out and melted the insulation.
I have de pinned a number of connectors on this vehicle and others but for some reason i cannot find the release tabs for the EFI main relay sockets. I fiddled with them for two hours last night with my pin tools, micro screw drivers etc..
I have an ebay fuse box on the way but would really like to get this one fixed if possible.
EDIT:
Turns out I know how to release the sockets as i can release the two right next to the two i need, problem is when the short happened it melted the release tab.. hacked it back together with heat shrink and silicone tape while i wait for the replacement to arrive.
