My new (to me) first gen!!!!!!

Well, since owning my first yota, an 81 long wheel base 4x4, ive been hooked. Ive had it and an 86,87, and the 92 runner i have now. For a long long time ive been in the search for a first gen runner that wasnt rusted out. Finally i found her!!!

This is the way i picked it up. A little rough around the edges but it has been sitting since 08. Supprisingly a good charge on the battery and some fresh gas and it runs fantastic. I have TONS of plans for it and plan on doing a build thread soon. I plan on using it as a daily driver, i will pull a small trailer with it, and wheel every weekend, and the occasional beach trip. Its an 89 model with the beloved 22r auto. Yes auto, thats what i wanted. On with a few pics.

I dont kow why my photobucket is being a bitch and i cant post direct pics.

Yea ive posted pics everywhere. Usually when i put the curser on the pic the bottom url pops up and i copy/paste it, but its not popping up now. Ive been posting pics off my photobucket account for 2 years and never had this problem. Thanks again for the help!

anybody with THAT many guns, I'm EXTRA nice to.

Nice find....looks like you've got some work ahead of you.

I have the 22re with the AUTO in my truck, no problems.
see my rebuild and see what kind of problem I "do" have.

Love the 1st gens, I want like 10 more of them.

how much did you pay for your 4runner. I got one the other day , perfect body and frame not a spec of rust, insides were in good shape other than carpet for 3500.

A little over a grand. It runs perfect though and despite its rough appearance its really not that bad. Very very little surface rust on a few spots. It had the huge dent in the drivers door that i already worked out and a couple other small dents. The interior is in very good shape for its age too.

That truck looks just like mine did when I bought it; same year, same auto, same motor, same color (inside and out), same black top, and same ridiculously small tires! I just wish mine had that tube bumper!

I paid 3500 for mine I do not have many pictures of it you can see it as my avatar.
perfect body, frame, not one spec of rust. Inside is in good condition other than cracks in dash and carpet. It has 166k miles. Seems to run very well .

I am seeing it puff some whiteish blue smoke out on start up so may need to get new valve seals. I think I paid a little to much but it was in great shape and where I live this is about what they go for, actually they dont go at all, noone has one around where i live, but in the surrounding states they go for around 3 - 4k in the shape mines in.

so for around 4500.00 i will have a very dependable nice looking rig. I guess if i look at it that way i did not do to bad.
