Is my clutch any good? (pic!)
Rebuilding my engine. Dropped my clutch A LOT and did some brake stands and crap like that. Is this what it's supposed to look like or should I get a new one?

just about every time I've had the clutch apart, I replace the the disk... I mean, unless you just put a new one in like 3000 miles ago...
it's just such a PITA to do, for less than $20, I'll at least replace the disk and brake-clean the flywheel and pressure-plate
I'd say replace it, just as Team420 says, for the same reason. looks plently think enough to last another 75k miles or so, but personally, that wear-ring around the center would worry me...

The wear ring, is why I said to have the flywheel surfaced...obviously somethin is not right there. Might as well do the throwout, and pilot bearings while your there too.

to be honest, you've got it apart, so replace it and make it good now... flywheel, friction disc, pressure plate et al.
I'd rather you replace it in 80k than in 15k.

if its already OUT, then why the hell NOT do it??? it looks good except for the wear mark, but replacing it and all the bearings and flywheel is a precaution. it wont be going out anytime soon. make it easy on yourself.

Make sure to do your rear main seal as well!! When I put in my clutch, I also did the rear main, and the tranny seal that holds back the gear oil on the bell housing side.
Of course I also did the t-belt, water pump while I had the other side of the engine apart.

just make sure you surface the flywheel, I bet you have a discolored looking ring on there too, if you dont surface it....the same thing will happen to the new clutch. Also, do the bearings, seals..etc as stated above....might as well do it right while your in there...would suck to have to tear it down later to fix something that could be taken care of now... of course...if funds are an issue(they always are for me) then just do what you can....i'd say surface the flywheel a.s.a.p. tho
