locked hubs + 2wd=?
Will I be able to notice a front locker while running in 2wd with the hubs locked? The reason I ask is because I might be able to get a good deal on a used IFS third with 4.88s and a lockright. I didn't really have plans on getting a front locker, but if it's a good deal, I might go ahead and get it.
My understanding is that the locker will be completely transparent when the hubs are unlocked, in either 2HI, 4HI, or 4LO. What I'm wondering is if the locker will be noticeable while running trails in 2HI with the hubs locked.

I know that the locker will lock up when under force from the drivetrain. However, I wasn't sure if the locked hubs would transmit force to the differential, thereby causing the locker to engage. I guess all I wondering is if taking it out of 4wd will effectively eliminate all the undesirable aspects of a front locker, such as limited steering or the self-centering effect.
