LED tail lights, need some help

Well, the stock tails get trashed on the trails so I want to take a hole saw and bore holes in the tailgate for 4in LED lights. Now, since the '86 Yota has a brake and a turn that are separate I need to cut 4 holes for 4 lights. Has anyone done different taillights in this gen? Just wanted a little imput, I already had plans to use another taillights setup. I hit these and they may just pop out and not break lol. Plus they will be a lot brighter and use less current.

You could get a trailer light converter at your parts store, and run just one light for the tail/stop/turn light. A buddy of mine just did this on his rig. Works great.

Were these a plug in from the stock location? Where the taillight harnesses plug in under the bed? I never thought about that but these mini truck guys do the Caddy and thin LED tails so they have to do something. This won't be a shaved tail light but just not in place and LED in the tailgate. I want to leave the plug and tap into the wires or get this trailer light converter and only have to use 2 round lights. If I so choose to go back stock I'll have to buy the harness and stock tails.

Hopkins part# 43315 is plug and play for your factory harness. You'd just cut the 4 way plug off, and wire into the new lights. Hopkins part# 48925 would require you to cut and splice your harness.
