I started having the exhaust leak marks like yours had. After the joints were welded I hit em with high temp silver paint, much happier.

After reading all this bad press about LCE headers I figure I'll just go with the pacesetter ceramic jobs for a little cheaper. Why pay more if they are going to rust out just as quickly if not quicker? That said, I had my exhaust replaced by a local shop here in Westport Mass around September and all my pipes look fine. LCE must be selling some cheap crap judging by your pics.

Pacesetter is the worst garbage you can ever install in your truck.

And what do you mean "all this bad press"? One guy has a problem with a header, and you make the decision to buy crap over quality?

Everything rusts when salt is added. My LCE header still looks like it did when I got it out of the box.

Make your choice but be prepared to live with it.

I don't think it's bad press as much as it is salty air and roads. I see you are in Massachusetts. I think it would have happened with any brand. For me, it's about exhaust leaks. Mine has zero leaks. So with that, I am happy. Just wish it was a little quieter is all.

And having said that a Pacesetter would probably have rusted holes in it in the amount of time your LCE had surface rust......

Yup, we respond faster than salt makes rust. We're freaking quick!

However I would still choose LCE over pacesetter any day of the week, the only reason it's showing rust issues is becuase I live on an island.. I mean look how nice those flanges are!! haha

Hell Zach, you might have to continually paint that thing. Rigs rust out in Hawaii, too. No salt on the roads, but the ocean air still does it's work

Move to New Mexico. The air here turns rust into factory paint.

Sorry Ricky, I gotta go with my Arizona Rig. Maybe a little sun damage to the fabric, but no rust, nowhere.

Fair enough, it just seems that for that amount of money for some LCE pipes they should last a few winters without rusting to that extent. Like I said, I had my whole exhaust replaced in October and the my downpipe and everything else are looking good. Maybe you don't rinse your truck off in the winter zachw90?
