No I understand that it will run better with one. I know that I cant set timing, or any of that. Thats not what Im saying. I expect it to run 110% better than it does now. I havent had the chance to get one. I should be able to Monday. What my concern was, how is not setting a cel. But that mystrey has also been solved.

Was it not setting CEL because of a seperate wiring issue? If so what did you do. My dads p/u 22RE would not show the CEL when you would switch the vehicle on, but it would crank but not start. I can't remember what the fix was.

It just wasnt displaying the code. There was two stored codes. When I jumped the terminals at the diagnostic port it started spitting out codes.
