Inclinometers
The Gen1 4Runner had an inclinometer option for the loaded SR5 version.
It fit into the "tray" of the passenger side dash.
There are other "versions" floating around that dont fit quite so well...
The right hand one fits. The lef hand one does not fit quite so well.

just found out while installing an inclinometer that the 86 4runner one does not fit that well in an 88 4runner.
the 86 one looks like the one pictured up top on the left , the one on the right would fit better.
I really thought all the first gen inclinometers were the same .

well i think it makes sense then .. if the pads are different so are the inclinometers .
any one of the pictured inclinometers will not fit both dash pads it will fit one or the other, but not both.
i mean it fits but not as well .
we pulled a stock inclinometer off a 86 4runner ,it fit perfect on this dash ,
and looks like the one pictured at left up top.
when we went to install it on a 1988 4runner it did not fit as well , the back bottom doesnt sit well.

The above one looks like its out of a tercel.
My Clinometer is same as the one on the right in OP's picture. With the lil knotch to fit in the dash pad tray.

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but I am wondering if anyone ever tried trimming down the gauge to make it fit better? I have one from an 86 and really want to put it in the 88 but I don't want it to look like ass. I also don't want to spend $400 on ebay to get one. I think it's just plastic so I'd think you could trim the shell down a little bit, sand it and maybe put a little texture on it.
